Creativity pays off

Everyday we see dozens of brands, logos, symbols and other visual identities at play; there’s nothing particularly special about them. But to make creative use of them is both special and utterly unique.
Tanner Woodford, a graphic designer from Arizona, created an ‘Identity Designer Clock’, which features the different brands seen throughout the day based on his observations. Sounds quite weird, but it’s really simple.
Woodford spent a whole day chronicling every logo, identity, brand or symbol that he interacted with and it turned out that he observed 1,035 identities throughout the day. He then decided to arrange them in a 24-hour clock. Woodford explained his idea; “I chose to design the clock for identity designers. I thought this concept was particularly appropriate since identity designers must be aware of all the work surrounding them throughout the day. This clock serves as a reminder that we are constantly enveloped by the brands.”
The project has seen great success and its many devotees have written about it on their websites and blogs. Woodford has now taken the concept one step further by selling posters featuring images of the identity clock.
