Angus Council

The Client

Angus Council wanted to showcase the county of Angus with a campaign that would “raise awareness of the character, strengths and opportunities of Angus locally, nationally and internationally”.

The aim of campaign had four main objectives;

  • to encourage a civic pride of Angus amongst local communities
  • to increase investment in Angus
  • to maximise the tourism and heritage potential of Angus
  • to promote the distinct culture and natural beauty of Angus

The Native Agency was approached to create a marketing campaign that would achieve these objectives.

Our Approach

Native designed, developed and implemented a vibrant web portal to showcase the county of Angus.  The Angus Web Portal project – angusahead.com – allows users to access comprehensive information on Angus and an on-line gateway to Angus organisations, businesses and services.
As the site aimed to maximise tourism in Angus, Native created a multi-lingual online portal.

angusahead.com showcases all that Angus has to offer through three main channels:

  • Visit Angus - for tourism and leisure information
  • Business Angus - for business information
  • Live Angus - for local service and community information

As part of the web portal development, Native also built my angusahead, a secure area where users can register for a range of features such as personalisation, e-Newsletter subscriptions, message boards, user polls and competitions and promotions.

As part of the angusahead marketing campaign, Native also produced a wide range of marketing collateral.

An essential part of increasing investment and tourism in Angus was to optimise and angusahead’s online presence in order to fully expose them to a global audience. Native provided an ongoing search engine marketing program that ensured excellent online visibility of the business.

The success of the design, multi lingual function, usability and search engine marketing of the angusahead portal is apparent through the comparable statistics between January 2006 and June 2007 where the number of visitors to the web portal increased by over 300%.
